Dear authors, reviewers and readers!
We wish You a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
We thank each of You for Your contribution to the development of the journal, Your active participation and support! It does not matter what role You played in the journal: the authors sent the results of their current research, the reviewers carefully studied the materials and gave comments on the revision, the editorial board and experts reacted in time to make a decision on the publication of the article.
In 2023, we focused on:
- maintaining positions in the ratings and developing new ways to promote our authors' articles;
- placement of the journal archive in five more electronic library systems – RCNI (White List), IVIS, Ibooks, Znanium, Sherpa Romeo;
- Preparation of three thematic volumes – "Environmental safety and sustainable development" (volume 260 ), "Energy efficiency in the mineral resource complex" (volume 261), as well as articles by university staff on significant scientific fields for the 250th anniversary of our publisher, Empress Catherine II St. Petersburg Mining University (vol 263;
- development of thematic digests from archival articles of the journal;
- development of information partnership with relevant events and companies;
- continuing to configure the internal part of the system – a module for uploading data to xml for various databases, the possibility of suggestions from reviewers when submitting an article, as well as other innovations that make work in our electronic editorial office clearer and easier;
- continuing improvements to the external part of the site – search settings (after all, we already have almost 9400 articles – so much useful material to study when writing new scientific papers), improving navigation on the site (ad filters, pages of articles and volumes);
- conducting practical training with student editors to introduce them to the field of publishing scientific journals.
A serious blow was the inclusion of our publisher in the US sanctions list (Mineral Resources Universities of Russia), which led to the suspension of the assignment of DOI to articles and, as a result, changes in the editorial process. The addition to the citation link was the EDN number.
We would like to express our great gratitude to our authors, reviewers and all experts who:
- read the design requirements before submitting an article;
- take reviewing seriously;
- open to communication with editorial staff and improvement of the scientific material of the article;
- maintain interest in published articles and, of course, quote us.
In the coming year, we plan to:
- release the thematic volume "Environmental Safety and Sustainable Development (Part 2)" (follow the announcements);
- continue to improve the article cabinet, work on the article verification system to shorten the publication time;
- and, of course, continue to expand the readership and strengthen ties with Russian and foreign colleagues.
We wish You in 2024 to find co-authors and research teams with whom Your scientific research will be easy, original and replicable!
