Dear authors, reviewers, and readers,
First, we thank you for your participation in the life of our Journal, for your articles, expert assessments, attention to our issues, for your feedback, patience, and willingness to cooperate! It would be no exaggeration to say that without your participation we would not have been able to consolidate our position as a highly rated journal and achieve new heights.
Looking back on this eventful year, we are pleased to say that in 2024, our Publishing House continues active work on the Journal of Mining Institute. The past year is marked by the following achievements:
- our journal entered the Iranian scientific data ISC;
- the journal keeps its positions in the Scopus International Scientific Database in all subject areas (Q1);
- the journal was assigned a quartile in the Web of Science International Database (Q2, IF - 2.4);
- we took the 1st place among all Russian journals in terms of SJR;
- publishing two thematic volumes: on environmental safety in approaches to wastewater treatment Vol. 267 and on thermodynamic processes in the interior of the Earth Vol. 269, and four subsequent volumes;
- expanding the active audience of the journal and strengthening ties with colleagues;
- continuation of media partnerships with specialized events, as well as development in the area of the Journal promotion;
- preparation of 11 thematic digests from articles of our journal: "Energy", "Diamonds", "Sustainable production model", "Chemical Safety Day", "Non-ferrous metals. Copper", "Ecologist's Day", "Metallurgist's Day", "Miner's Day", "SPIGF – 2024 (Saint Petersburg International Gas Forum-2024", "Petrochemical and Refining Congress: Synthesis 2024";
- conducting on-the-job training for seven students from two specialized institutes in Saint Petersburg (two interns were invited to an internship after receiving their diploma);
- adding of clickable links to pdf files of the articles;
- work on compiling a classification of archival articles (publications 1907-2018) for further customization of the search function.
Our regular readers know that the Journal of Mining Institute has a history of more than a century, and over these years the Journal has published articles, many of which remain relevant.
Next year, we plan to publish two thematic volumes (Comprehensive Antrarctic Research and State-of-the-Art of Digital Technologies in the Mineral Processing and Energy Sector), and continue to consistently publish relevant scientific works.
In addition, next year we plan to work on:
- reduction of the publication time of articles due to the development of a new system of statistics and monitoring of submitted articles;
- further expansion of the geography of our authors;
- updating the content of our website so that information about our policies and processes is more complete and easier to find;
- organizing on-the-job training for students of specialized universities;
- promotion of your articles through media partners of major industry events;
- verification of the output data of old archived articles and improvement of navigation through the archive.
We wish you creative and scientific success in the coming year, and may your articles be written with ease and published promptly!
