Corporate social responsibility in coal industry (practices of russian and european companies)

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is built on interaction between companies and the society which is especially important for major companies that exploit natural resources and play the role of city-forming socially significant entities. Various interpretations of the notion of social responsibility define the varying levels of influence companies have on the society, different levels of contribution of companies in the said process and the degree and level of implementation of CSR. The relations between social responsibility and economic results and the effects of implementing CSR policies are often not obvious. This study offers an assessment of present-day state of corporate social responsibility policies in coal companies of Russia and Poland and formulates proposals on implementing social responsibility projects with consideration of state-of-the-art CSR concepts. The results of the study are as follows: the achieved level of social responsibility in coal companies of Russia and Poland has been assessed; it is proven that most companies in the coal industry are at the level of fragmentary application of CSR concepts; an analysis has been carried out of tools available in the area of social responsibility of coal companies.

Problems development of the offshore oil and gas fields deposits

Based on the fact that the development of offshore fields that contain huge reserves of hy-drocarbons, is a key area to overcome the negative trends in the oil and gas industry. The article identifies ways to improve the organization and management of the development of the Arctic shelf from a methodological and practical point of view. Three groups of problems of increase of efficiency of interaction of oil and gas companies to governments and companies from other countries: 1) Institutional (taxation, production sharing agreements, concession regime and others.); investment (extension of the list of investment risks and methodical study of their principles); innovation (creation of a new generation of oil and gas equipment, marine oil and gas innova-tion clusters) and the ways to solve them.

Principles of corporate communications management system development for mineral resources companies

The article shows the benefits of using unified communications for the management of mineral resources companies and discusses some principles of a modern corporate communications system providing the guaranteed encryption of all transmitted information (voice, text and files). The system structure, its operations and technologies, necessary for the creation of such a system, are substantiated. The secure corporate communication system developed at the National Mineral Resources University (Mining University) is described, and its comparison with other domestic and foreign systems is provided.

Social and ecological responsibility of mineral and raw materials companies

In this article the author describes the basic concept of the corporate social responsibility, analyzes main features and standards of making of social reports of major companies. Specificity of reports in the Russian companies is allocated, and some offers with a view of activization of promotion both further ordering CSR and the eco-reporting in the Russian Federation on the basis of introducing new administrative and economic methods.
