Abstract

A special day for the domestic metallurgical industry – Metallurgist Day – is celebrated in our country annually on the third Sunday of July. This day has its own history, which began back in 1957, when the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR established Metallurgist Day. Thus, the country’s leadership paid tribute to steelworkers, rolling mills operators, blacksmiths and other workers in the metallurgical industry, who made an invaluable contribution to the victory in the Great Patriotic War and the restoration of the post-war state. For many decades this day has become a symbol of honor and recognition of the labor of workers in such an important industrial sector for the Russian. Today, Metallurgist Day is considered one of the most significant holidays in many cities of the Russian Federation, especially in those where large metallurgical enterprises are located: in Magnitogorsk and Chelyabinsk, Nizhny Tagil, Yekaterinburg, Cherepovets, Novokuznetsk, Novosibirsk, Norilsk and many other cities celebrate this day. Metallurgist Day is not only a recognition of professional and labor success, but also an opportunity to celebrate achievements, innovations and technological breakthroughs in the industry. Metallurgical plants and combines demonstrate the advanced technologies being introduced, their own innovative solutions, share their achievements and development plans.
