Abstract

The purpose and optimal mode of the weighted smelting process when operating on nickel raw materials are described, and the consequences of deviations from this mode are indicated. The analysis of control quality of the suspended melting furnace (SMF) is made, as a result of which the necessity of development of the automatic control system of the SMF is shown. The problem statement is formulated and the criterion of optimal control is specified. The importance of maintaining the oxygen coefficient and thermal balance of the reaction shaft by controlling the flow rates of technical oxygen and natural gas is emphasized. The consequences of overestimation and underestimation of oxygen coefficient are analyzed. A two-level system of automatic control of oxygen-air mixture and natural gas supply to the SMF is proposed and its structural scheme is given. The algorithm of its operation is presented.
