Abstract

The scope of application and advantages of sheet pile walls, the mechanism of sheet pile wall operation and the loads acting on it are considered. The main factors influencing the parameters of the sheet piling wall are investigated and functional dependences are determined. On the basis of analytical and experimental research the methodology of sheet pile wall calculation is developed: the parameters and stability of sheet pile walls are determined by the data on the physical and mechanical properties of soil. The procedure of using the proposed methodology at the design stage has been developed and justified.
