Diagnostics of natural stone of embedded crosses of Novgorod temples

Abstract
Provenance of the building stone used in wall roods of historical churches of Velikiy Novgorod was studied. All roods are made of pale rose to white limestone containing Brachiopoda shell detritus. The physical characteristics and petrography of limestone correspond to the Semiluksky regional horizon of the Russian platform.
