Abstract

This work represents results of petrologic and geochemical study of features of natural rhyolitic volcanic glasses of Kamchatka. Obsidians of two famous deposits of Kamchatka – Nachikinskoe and Payalpan were used for study. Apart from common comparison of petrologic and geo[1]chemical features of rocks, special attention to water species represented in glasses have been paid. IR spectroscopy was used to provide this information. According to the results of study, conclusion about probable origin of Payalpan’s glasses has been made.
