Selection of the most economical way method of exploration of deposits from the surface
Abstract
During prospecting and exploration work on deposits of solid minerals, there is a need to study the deposit from the surface. For this purpose, ditches, pits (with or without crosscuts), shallow core-drilled exploration boreholes, or a complex of these excavations is used. The method of exploration (density and configuration of the exploration network, type of sampling) is determined in all cases on the basis of the study of geological factors. If it is possible to apply all these types of exploration, it remains to decide which of them should be given preference. Other things being equal, the most economical method of opening up should be chosen, which, at the lowest cost of time and material resources, will give sufficiently reliable data on the explored object.
