Among the numerous problems facing researchers of the geological structure of the southwestern Prionezhye region are questions about the presence and nature of tectonic disturbances in the area of development of the Iotnian deposits of the Upper Proterozoic. The researcher's approach to studying the stratigraphy and tectonics of the Precambrian and prospects for mineral prospecting depends on the solution of these questions.
