Abstract

In contrast to the previously used mine-wide indicator of the number of fires per 1 million tons of production in statistical analyses, this study used the seam fire frequency coefficient, which characterizes the number of fires per 1 million tons of production from a given seam. The point is that the mine-wide indicator of the number of fires per 1 million tons of production correctly reflects the actual state, provided that the number of fires from the seams developed by the mine is distributed evenly over all seams.
