Specific solvation in extraction processes with trialkyl phosphates

Abstract
The distribution of the extracted substance between the aqueous and organic phases depends on the nature of the diluent used. If kerosene or individual alkanes are used as a diluent, i.e. compounds that are low‑polar and do not have the ability to form donor‑acceptor bonds, then their interaction with tributyl phosphate (TBP) and the solvate is apparently limited to the occurrence of dispersion forces without the formation of molecular compounds with the dissolved substances.
