Abstract

Extensive experimental material on the kinetics of the pyrrhotite firing process has made it possible to establish the influence of temperature, oxygen concentration, and particle size on the rate of the oxidation process. Oxidative firing of pyrrhotides is a complex physicochemical heterogeneous process accompanied by the formation of gaseous and solid reaction products, which leads to additional resistance to mass transfer caused by the diffusion of oxygen through a porous layer of solid oxides...
