Vibrational phenomena are now widely used in all areas of engineering. The first attempts to apply vibrations for destruction of coal massif are resonance and vibration plows. Daily experience testifies to the effectiveness of shock application of load for destruction of brittle materials. Coal by nature is relatively brittle, and it is quite natural to apply percussive shearing of it during excavation.
