Efficiency of acoustic logging in dissecting the section of the Pechenga ore field

Article preview

The paper summarizes the experimental data on the study of kinematic and dynamic characteristics of elastic waves for 17 wells with a total volume of more than 20000 m, located in different parts of the Pechenga ore field and sufficiently characterizing its section.

Experience of application of integrated seismoacoustic studies at the Pechenga ore field

Article preview

In the Pechenga ore field in order to clarify its structures in the near-well and inter-well space seismoacoustic studies are carried out, including vertical seismic profiling (VSP) and acoustic logging (AL).

Peculiarities of application of borehole radio sounding in the Pechenga ore field

Article preview

One of the ways to improve the efficiency of geological exploration in the search for deep-seated ore bodies, especially in the conditions of complex structures of ore fields, is the study of geophysical methods near-well and interwell space. In this case, the most widespread and developed are electrical exploration methods. ...

Borehole magnetic prospecting at copper-nickel deposits of the Pechenga region

Article preview

The method of borehole magnetic exploration is currently used almost exclusively for magnetite deposits of various genetic types. There is practically no experience in applying this method to relatively weakly magnetic objects. This is explained mainly by the insufficient resolution of modern borehole magnetometers, which do not allow measuring the magnetic field in the borehole with an accuracy higher than ± (1000–1500) gammas for the full field vector and 500 gammas for its vertical component.

Theoretical substantiation of polarographic method of borehole sampling for nickel

Article preview

One of the important tasks of borehole logging in ore districts is the delineation of ore intervals and determination of the metal content in the ore. At the sulfide copper-nickel deposits of the Pechenga region, a complex of geophysical methods can now confidently distinguish only the zones of sulfide mineralization with which the ores are associated. ...
