Examples are given of the consequences of natural unloading of clays at the base of river valleys (Lower Pechora, Moscow, etc.). It is concluded about the erosion unloading, which results in decompaction of clays and their displacement of landslide nature.
The state of engineering-geological surveys for hydrotechnical construction is considered. A significant decline in the system of Moscow hydroproject is noted. The task of finding the right way out of two possible ways: surveys for reconstruction of hydraulic structures or entering the international market.
