Computers are used rather lopsidedly in the general education process. Creation of electronic analogues of existing lecture courses, tutorials for laboratory and coursework increases the efficiency of independent work, partially replaces reference books, will be in demand by distance learning students. The Electronic Guide has been created with the help of Hypertext (HTML) language. The choice of this tool predetermined the possibility of work without knowledge of special programming techniques, accessibility of browsing, compact material for saving. For the first experience of electronic guide creation subject "Computer science" has been chosen, in particular, course material "Basic computational processes and their implementation in Pascal programming language" (one semester) for the 080100 specialty "Geological survey, prospecting and exploration of mineral deposits". The electronic guide is recorded on computers in the classrooms of the Mining Institute where the classes are held and is used for laboratory and term papers. The work of the guide is provided with a soundtrack different for each topic. The guide, which contains a whole semester's worth of lectures, is placed on a single floppy disk.
