The behavior of impurities – colored organic compounds (COC) in aluminate liquors of Bayer process during electrolysis treatment was investigated. Experimental data for the impact of various technological parameters and conditions are found to reduce the content of COC to 50-80 %.
The research is devoted to the possibility of copper transition into sulfide-alkaline tellurium solutions using radioactive isotopes of copper and tellurium. The authors studied the possibilities of purification of such solutions from copper, proposed a method of copper splitting as a product of processing. Application of this method to industrial solutions makes it possible to obtain tellurium containing millionths of copper, which ensures compliance with T-1 grade.
Sulfide-alkaline electrolytes were studied for the cathodic deposition of tin, antimony, mercury, indium, and tellurium. Electrolysis of sulfide-alkaline solutions of antimony has found industrial application, and a large number of works have been devoted to its study. There is insufficient information in the literature on changes in the ionic composition of the electrolyte during the electrolysis of thio-salt solutions and its relationship to current efficiency. An attempt to study this issue with reference to tellurium solutions is described in this report. The electrolysis of such solutions was first considered earlier.
