The Journal of Mining Institute is published since 1907. For more than 110 years, the volumes of the Journal have been preserved in the library holdings of the Mining University. Presently their number amounts to 250 volumes.
In 2009 – 2014, the library was working on digitization of all volumes of the Journal. The amount of scanned materials reached 8,288 articles. This is how we created an important full-text information source – an electronic archive of the Journal of Mining Institute, which covers a significant period of the history of scientific schools development at the Mining University, as well as mining engineering and geology in Russia.
These efforts contribute to preservation of the cultural and scientific heritage of the Mining University and with the help of modern information technologies make it available to a large number of users.
