For the 28th time, the Scientific and Practical Conference "Geomodel" will become the main gathering point for geologists, geophysicists, and field development specialists — from September 7 to 10, those who shape the current landscape and future direction of Russian geological exploration will meet in Gelendzhik. Over the years, the conference has grown into one of the country's most respected professional platforms, where Russian experts not only share results but also compare approaches, evaluate different methodological schools, and develop a shared vision for the industry's development. As Organizing Committee Chairman Mikhail Sergeevich Denisov notes, "Geomodel" consistently demonstrates a rising scientific level of presentations, with topics covering all practically significant areas of modern geology and exploration geophysics — from regional generalizations to subtle methodological nuances. Participants leave not just with new contacts, but also with original ideas and insights that later find application in real production practice.
The "Geomodel 2026" program is impressive in its scope: it covers sequence stratigraphy, clinoform complexes, carbonate deposits, fractured reservoirs with fault mapping techniques, non-anticlinal hydrocarbon traps, and accumulations in fold-and-thrust belts. Key focus areas include petroelastic modeling, core studies (petrophysical, geomechanical, digitization), well logging processing and interpretation, including work in highly deviated and horizontal wells. Significant attention is given to quantitative uncertainty assessment and risk analysis, geological, hydrodynamic, and geomechanical modeling, as well as hydrocarbon reserve estimation and auditing. Applied aspects are not overlooked either: modern field development planning methods, enhanced oil recovery, drilling support in complex geological and mining conditions, and geophysical and hydrodynamic production monitoring. A dedicated block on machine learning and artificial intelligence in geosciences confirms that domestic science keeps pace with the most advanced global trends.
