NEDRA 4.0 2027: From Fragmented Digitalization to an Integrated Management Model
The Russian mining industry is entering a new phase of digital development—moving from the adoption of isolated technologies to end-to-end data-driven production management. At the Congress on Digitalization and Sustainable Development of the Mining and Metallurgical Industry: NEDRA 4.0, experts will discuss the sector's overarching trend toward improving efficiency, safety, and controllability of complex processes, where digital solutions are becoming the core of the operating model.
According to the analytical report by Kept, "Russian Mining Industry: Investment in Digital Technologies – 2026 and a Look Ahead," 81% of surveyed companies use digital technologies in a fragmented manner or in test mode. Comprehensive integration remains a task for the coming years. At the same time, the transition to a unified digital framework is seen as the primary source of enhanced competitiveness. During NEDRA 4.0 2026, Alexander Kotov (ALROSA) stated that digitalization, the development of tools, and the transformation of the entire production cycle will be defining directions for the sector.
An important factor in this transformation is the development of domestic solutions and the strengthening of in-house competencies within companies. The industry shows a steady trend toward developing its own proprietary technologies. In this context, industry collaboration—the exchange of practices, technologies, and management models—takes on particular significance. These objectives will form the foundation of the NEDRA 4.0 Congress, which will take place on February 8–9, 2027, in St. Petersburg.
