The article gives a review of research on the segregation process. Specific examples of apparatuses on which segregation is manifested are given. The role of stratification on segregation processes in gravity enrichment methods is identified, traced and substantiated.
The main theoretical approaches of the segregation process are considered. The necessity of further study of the segregation process is emphasized, which will allow to create a new highly efficient and productive separator.
The method of studying the segregation phenomenon and the quantitative data obtained with its help are considered. The influence of water viscosity on mineral processing performance from different points of view: theoretical and experimental. After analyzing the relevant literature, the choice of formula is made and the calculation is carried out according to it, which showed the differences in the average flow velocities of water movement along the helical surface. In the experimental part, experiments were carried out on the screw sluice VSH-350.
A new approach and devices for studying the segregation process in gravity concentration have been proposed. By means of this device interesting facts were obtained, proving the work of this device and showing some peculiarities and laws of this phenomenon.
The main conclusions of the work on the study of the influence of various factors on the enrichment of fine-grained materials on the screw sluice are considered. The test methodology, the application of the planning matrix and the conclusions obtained as a result of processing the mathematical model are also shown.
The main world trends of intensification of the grinding process in ball mills are analyzed. The choice of optimal ball load, illustrated designs of new mills, mill linings are considered.
