Geological and mathematical model of secondary sulphidisation zone polarizability as a function of oil and gas deposit depth
- Authors:
- O. F. Putikov
- S. A. Ivanov
The differential-normalized method of electrical exploration (DNME), by means of polarization study of the secondary sulphidation zone (depth ~ 0,4-0,6 km), allows making conclusion about existence and parameters of an oil and gas deposit (depth up to ~ 2-5 km). The approximate solution of the system of nonlinear differential equations in partial derivatives for concentration of sulfur-hydrogen and pyrite (polarizability) as the function of oil-gas deposit depth has been received. The results are confirmed by experimental investigations in the North Sea.

Geochemistry of ore-forming hydrothermal fluids of the world ocean
- Authors:
- C. M. Sudarikov
- M. V. Zmievskii
The most complete results of the study of hydrothermal ore-forming solutions geochemistry in the Russian and international expeditions to deep-sea hydrothermal fields of the world ocean are analyzed. Solutions of both high and low salinity with respect to seawater are formed in the discharge zone of fluids. Positive correlation of ore components with the chloride ion and negative one with the pH value may indicate the migration of components in acidic hydrothermal solutions in the form of chloride complexes. Hydrogen sulfide is associated with the significant positive correlation with metals, which indicates reducing conditions forming in ore-bearing hydrothermal solutions. This is confirmed by the close relationship of ore components with hydrogen. The transfer of metals mainly in the form of chloride complexes at high temperatures of the solution is confirmed by the results of our thermodynamic modeling. Methane is characterized by negative dependence on temperature and concentration of ore components, associated with positive dependence on pH and negative one on hydrogen sulfide. Each of the observed dependencies can testify against abiotic theory of income of methane in hydrothermal solutions. The following geochemical indicators are the most promising for the discovery of new ore deposits and the organization of geochemical monitoring during the development of already discovered fields: Eh, pH, Cl, Fe, Mn, H 2 S, CO 2 , H 2 and possibly CH 4 .

- Authors:
- D. L. Ustyugov
- L. N. Norova
In March 2015 the scientific community celebrated the 110th anniversary of the birth of one of the founders of the hydrogeological and engineering-geological school, an honouree of State Award of the USSR and the Byelorussian SSR, Academician Gerasim Vasilyevich Bogomolov. The article is devoted to several important stages of the development of Russian hydrogeology, which are primarily associated with the research conducted by G.V.Bogomolov. His role in the development of hydrogeology in Belarus, i.e. theory and practice of the use of groundwater, is emphasized. This article is about the man who was a brilliant geologist, scholar, lecturer and an outstanding research manager. G.V.Bogomolov founded a school of disciples and followers who continued to develop and put into practice the academician’s ideas in various branches of geological theory and practice.

Application of the geoelectrochemical method for prospecting of oil and gas deposits in the Barents and Kara seas
- Authors:
- M. A. Kholmyanskii
- S. P. Pavlov
- O. F. Putikov
The use of the geoelectrochemical method of ion-selective electrodes for continuous recording of hydrocarbon micro-components – heavy metals – during the vessel movement to search for oil and gas deposits on the shelf is justified theoretically and experimentally. The existence of «jet» halos in the water column above the shelf oil and gas deposits is discovered experimentally and the method of geoelectrochemical ion-selective electrodes as well as the developed instrumentation for recording these halos is described. The application of a new geoelectrochemical method for prospecting in motion (without sampling) both structural and non-structural oil and gas deposits on the shelf is justified.

Productivity of ore and placer gold deposits of the priamur province
- Authors:
- V. A. Stepanov
- A. V. Melnikov
The article discusses ore and placer gold deposits of the Priamur province formed as a result of the Late Mesozoic collisions of geoblocks of the south-eastern framing of the Siberian craton and the Amur composite massif. Metallogenic zoning of the province displaying metallogenic zones and ore-placer sites is described. The article shows that the Priamur province is one of the main gold-bearing provinces of Russia with the level of gold ore (about 180 tons) and placer (about 1132 tons) gold. The predominance of placer gold in gold mining indicates significant opportunities to identify new gold deposits.

Strategy of rational development of Siberian platform high-quality helium resources
- Authors:
- V. B. Archegov
A large gashelium geochemical province has been discovered in the south of the Siberian Platform. 36 fields containing commercially viable concentration of helium are found in Precambrian strata. Heliumsaving technologies of processing natural gas are impossible without solving a problem of storing extracted helium concentrate. It is advisable to build underground gas storage facilities in the Cambrian rock salt deposits. The main helium reserves are concentrated in natural gases of the Siberian Platform of the Russian Federation and in gases of the U.S. Mid-continent and the Rocky Mountains. Helium is transported to suppliers both in the gaseous and liquid state. Construction of the gas pipeline «Power of Siberia», which will run along the oil pipeline «Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean» in a single corridor, has begun. It is expedient to connect helium gas fields to a network of local gas pipelines and on their basis to create gas processing centers (Talakan-Chayanda, Kovykta, Yurubcheno-Tokhomo, Sobin-Paygin, etc.).

Study on disintegration of very clayey sands in precious metal deposits
- Authors:
- N. P. Khrunina
- A. Yu. Cheban
The article covers findings of the research on very clayey sands of the gold placer in the stream Mad, Primorsky Krai. The sands of the gold placer studied proved to be rather compli-cated for disintegration and subsequent enrichment owing to high content of dispersed factions, iron oxides, and the clay mineral montmorillonite and have low dynamics of reducing elastic properties under water saturation. To solve the problem of disintegration of very clayey sands with low dynamics of deformation properties under water saturation the authors justified the need for further research into processes based on conversion of the kinetic energy of the fluid flow in the energy of acoustic oscillations with a sequential combination of additional hydrodynamic effects including jet division.

- Authors:
- V. A. Shevnin
- A. A. Bobachev
- S. V. Ivanova
Alexandrovsky ancient settlement is situated in the Kaluga region near the river Voria and Alexandrovka village. Self potential (SP) measurements with new non-polarizing electrodes of the second generation instead of traditional copper-copper sulfate electrodes were performed in 2013 and increased the quality of measurements. SP data were analyzed together with electrical resistivity tomography (ERT). The authors found filtration SP anomalies and proved that the main SP anomaly has diffusion-adsorption origin, determined that the Alexandrovsky site of the ancient settlement has decreased SP values.

Morphological and real singularities of El Monigote’s gold placer (Argentina)
- Authors:
- Vega Milton
This paper describes the results of a study of gold from placer El Monigote, located in central Argentina in the north-east of the province of San Luis. Gold from this placer deposit has weak roundness, lowpower, high-grade rims and a grade of gold (close to 700 ‰) in the center of the gold particles. This indicates a single gold source which is located in a few kilometers north-west of the placer deposit El Monigote, which is likely related to the volcanic belt.
