2-го февраля 1912 г. скончался в Биржевой больнице, после произведенной операции д. с. с. директор и ординарный профессор Горного Института Императрицы Екатерины II, Иван Петрович Долбня, в возрасте 59 лет. После выноса тела из церкви у входа в институт и. д. директора Горного Института проф. И. Ф. Шредер произнес речь: "... Совет Горного Института Императрицы Екатерины II, желая почтить память Ивана Петровича, постановил в сегодняшнем собрании охарактеризовать научно-педагогическую деятельность и поделиться биографическими сведениями, а также и воспоминаниями друзей покойного, могущими осветить его личность".

On February 2, 1912, A.S.C., Ivan Petrovich Dolbnya, director and ordinary professor of the Mining Institute of Empress Catherine II, passed away in the Birzhevaya Hospital, after an operation, at the age of 59. After the body the body is brought out of the church, at the entrance to the institute the Acting Director of the Mining Institute prof. I. F. Schroeder delivered a speech: "...
