Совет Горного Института, занявшись 31-го марта 1908 года вопросом о чевствовании имевшего скоро наступить 50-летия деятельности Ивана Августовича Тиме на пepвом плане признал необходимость посвятить этой деятельности особый выпуск Записок Института. С этою целью они решили не ограничиться участием специалистов самого Института, но обратиться и к специалистам, работающим вне Института, по своим трудам и своей деятельности близко знакомым с плодами деятельности юбиляра.

The Council of the Mining Institute, having taken up on March 31, 1908, the issue of honoring the coming 50th anniversary of the activities of Ivan Avgustovich Tim, in the foreground, recognized the need to devote a special issue of the Institute’s Notes to this activity. For this purpose, they decided not to limit themselves to the participation of specialists from the Institute, but also to address the specialists working outside the Institute, who, through their works and their activities, are closely familiar with the activities of the hero of the day.
