В контактах мелких жил или вообще на некотором расстоянии от них мы встречаем светло окрашенные гранитовидного облика породы, так сказать, еще не дошедшие до стадии типичного лестиварита. Изменения в них сводятся к большей или меньшей альбитизации породы, уменьшению или исчезновению кварца и появлению щелочных бисиликатов. Первоначальные минералы — ортоклаз, биотит и олигоклаз, присутствуют в них в большем или меньшем количестве. Процесс образования лестиваритов на Лестиваре является таким образом процессом щелочного метасоматоза с привносом щелочей (Na) и глинозема и в присутствии летучих, главным образом воды. За счет них и первоначального состава породы происходит интенсивная альбитизация, образование щелочного амфибола далее от контакта и эгирина ближе к контакту; наконец вблизи контакта появляются апатит, эвдиалит, сфен. При полном замещении породы образуются макроскопически белые и сахаровидные породы, часто встречаемые на Лестиваре и в других местах внешнего контакта в полях развития мигматитов, прорванных щелочными пегматитовыми жилами. Этот метасоматический процесс аналогичен явлениям щелочного метасоматоза, описанным Гольдшмидтом, Брёггером и др. в контактовых зонах щелочных интрузий.

When the rock is completely replaced, macroscopically white and sugar-like rocks are formed, often found at Lestivar and other places of external contact in the fields of migmatite development, intruded by alkaline pegmatite veins. This metasomatic process is similar to the phenomena of alkaline metasomatism described by Goldschmidt, Brögger and others in the contact zones of alkaline intrusions.
