Гидрогеологические наблюдения за режимом подземных вод имеют большое значение при освоении месторождений, находящихся в сложных гидрогеологических условиях. Многочисленные примеры из практики освоения обводненных местождений показывают, что причиной прорывов подземных вод в горные выработки часто является недостаточное изучение гидрогеологических условий месторождения и отсутствие контроля за режимом подземных вод. Прорывы подземных вод часто надолго задерживают ведение гоых работ, а ликвидация их связана с крупными затратами материало-технических средств. Но при хорошо организованных гидрогеологеских наблюдениях за режимом этих вод и правильной их интерпретии обычно удается предупредить возникновение прорывов, а если они произошли, то наметить быстрые и наиболее эффективные способы их ликвидации. При этом существенное значение имеет установление истоика прорыва, что, естественно, облегчает борьбу с подземными водами.

Hydrogeological observations of groundwater regime are of great importance in the development of deposits located in complex hydrogeological conditions. Numerous examples from the practice of development of watered deposits show that the cause of groundwater breakthroughs into mine workings is often an insufficient study of the hydrogeological conditions of the deposit and lack of control over the regime of groundwater. Groundwater breakthroughs often delay mining operations for a long time, and their elimination is associated with large expenditures of material and technical resources. But with well-organized hydrogeological observations of the regime of these waters and their correct interpretation, it is usually possible to prevent the occurrence of breakthroughs, and if they have occurred, to outline the fastest and most effective ways of their elimination. At the same time, it is essential to identify the source of the breakthrough, which, of course, facilitates the fight against groundwater.
