Осуществление механизации навалки угля в очистном забое является одной из важнейших проблем советской угольной промышленности в 4-й сталинской пятилетке. В „Законе о пятилетием плане восстановления и развития народного хозяйства СССР на 1946—1950 гг.“ записано: „Для выполнения установленной программы роста добычи угля, строительства и увеличения производительности труда — всемерно механизировать трудоемкие процессы в угольной промышленности, в частности обеспечить широкое проведение работ по механизации навалки угля и погрузки породы". Возможны три основных пути механизации навалки угля в очистном забое: Частичная механизация навалки, т. е. осуществление навалки на конвейер не всего вынимаемого угля, а некоторой его части. Полная механизация навалки, выполняемая специализированными навалочными машинами. Комплексная механизация навалки и выемки-угля; исполнительной машиной в этом случае является горный комбайн или врубо-отбое-навалочная машина. Второй и третий методы требуют создания высокосовершенных конструкций навалочных машин и горных комбайнов.

Implementation of mechanization of coal loading in the working face is one of the most important problems of the Soviet coal industry in the 4th Stalin Five-Year Plan. There are three main possible ways of mechanization of coal loading in the working face: Partial mechanization of loading, i.e. loading onto the conveyor not all of the extracted coal, but some of it. Full mechanization of loading, performed by specialized loading machines. Complex mechanization of coal loading and extraction; the executive machine in this case is a mining combine or cutting-cutting-bulking machine. The second and third methods require the creation of highly sophisticated designs of bulk machines and mining combines.
