В практике горнорудной промышленности встречаются случаи, когда выпуск магазинированной руды из камер приходится вести под закладкой, опускающейся вслед за рудой и непрерывно добавляемой по мере выпуска руды. Необходимость в этом может встретиться при недостаточно устойчивых породах висячего бока или междукамерных целиков руды. При этом закладка лежит непосредственно на руде или применяется разделяющее руду и закладку перекрытие с целью предотвращения разубоживания руды закладочным материалом. Однако такую роль перекрытие может выполнять не всегда. Например, при недостаточно крутом угле падения и большой высоте этажа оно рано опускается на лежачий бок, и значительное количество руды после этого будет выпускаться практически без перекрытия. Опускающееся на лежачий бок совместно с лежащей на нем закладкой перекрытие также может зажать часть руды, которая в таком случае будет потеряна. Это объясняется стремлением кусков руды, закладки и самого перекрытия под действием силы тяжести перемещаться вертикально вниз.

This is due to the tendency of the ore pieces, the backfill and the slab itself to move vertically downwards under the influence of gravity.
