В отечественной горной промышленности началось внедрение много­канатных подъемных машин. На шахтах Сталинской области монти­руются восемь таких установок. Проектными организациями проек­тируется ряд многоканатных подъемных установок различной мощности и различного назначения. Ввиду специфических особенностей конструкции и расположения многоканатных подъемных машин приводу предъявляются особые требования. Обязательное наличие хвостового каната делает систему подъема уравновешенной. Небольшой диаметр барабана машины зна­чительно снижает крутящие моменты на главном валу, облегчает кон­струирование редуктора и позволяет применить относительно быстроход­ные приводные двигатели. Расчеты проектных организаций показывают, что для многоканатных машин при подъеме нормального труда в период замедления, как правило, требуется работа привода в двигательном режиме.
