Род Lytvophyllum Dobг. относится к группе редко встречающихся, очень немногочисленных и поэтому слабо изученных кораллов. До сих пор в литературе описаны лишь два его вида — тип рода L. tschernowi (Soshk.) из верхнего карбона и нижней перми Урала [Сошкина и др., 1941] и L. dobrolyubovae Vass. из пограничных слоев нижнего и среднего карбона Донбасса [Василюк, 1960]. Кроме того, известны были находки кораллов в основании среднего карбона Урала, выделенных И. И. Горским в 1938 г. как L. tschernowi vаг. antiqua Gог. msc.. упоминание о которых содержится в работах И. И. Горского [1948] и В. Д. Фомичева [1953]. К сожалению, эта форма И. И. Горским не была опубликована.

The genus Lytvophyllum Dobr. belongs to the group of rare, very few and therefore poorly studied corals. So far, only two of its species have been described in the literature — the type species L. tschernowi (Soshk.) from the Upper Carboniferous and Lower Permian of the Urals [Soshkina et al., 1941] and L. dobrolyubovae Vass. from the boundary beds of the Lower and Middle Carboniferous of the Donbass [Vasilyuk, 1960]. In addition, coral finds from the base of the Middle Carboniferous of the Urals, identified by I. I. Gorsky in 1938 as L. tschernowi var. antiqua Gor. msc. , were also known, mention of which is contained in the works of I. I. Gorsky [1948] and V. D. Fomichev [1953]. Unfortunately, this form was not published by I. I. Gorsky.
