Представители семейства Megalodontidae широко распространены на Южном и Северном островах Новой Земли, об этом свидетельствуют коллекции Б. А. Алферова (1934), А. А. Петренко (1936) и Б. В. Милорадовича (1936), обработанные нами для настоящей статьи.

Representatives of the family Megalodontidae are widely distributed on the Southern and Northern Islands of Novaya Zemlya, as evidenced by the collections of B. A. Alferov (1934). A.
