В последней трети прошлого века в геологии антропогена (четвер­тичного периода) произошла коренная ломка основных представлений: утвердилась теория материковых оледенений, пришедшая на смену дрифтовой теории.

In the last third of the last century in the geology of the Anthropogenic (Quaternary period) there was a radical breakdown of the basic ideas: the theory of continental glaciations, which replaced the drift theory, became established.
