В районе БАМа находятся Десовское, Тарыннахское, Таежное, Сиваглинское, Пионерское, Комсомольское железорудные месторождения и несколько мелких. Все железорудные месторождения располагаются на обширной территории нагорий, которая является переходной зоной от Сибирской платформы к склад­чатым областям (так называемые рифтовые структуры).

In the BAM area there are Desovskoye, Tarynnakhskoye, Tayozhnoye, Sivaglinskoye, Pionerskoye, Komsomolskoye iron ore deposits and several smaller ones. All iron ore deposits are located in the vast territory of the highlands, which is a transition zone from the Siberian platform to folded regions (the so-called rift structures).
