В развитии теории и практики инженерно-геологического районирования выделяют два этапа. На первом из них (60-80-е годы нашего столетия) инженерно-геологичес­кое районирование рассматривалось как средство оценки инженерно-геологичес­ких условий континентов, иногда вместе с их подводным продолжением на шельф.

In the development of the theory and practice of engineering-geological zoning, two stages are distinguished.
