Рассматриваются физические причины, ответственные за низкочастотные геологические цик­личности (мегацикы) с продолжительностью периодов 2 млрд., 1 млрд., 500 млн., 350 млн. лет и 176 млн. лет. Анализируются особенности солнечной орбиты, строения Галактики, изменение активности ядра последней, следствием чего является закономерная смена физической обстановки в преде­лах Солнечной системы, что и приводит к контрастным событиям, четко фиксируемым в кометной летописи Земли.

The physical causes responsible for low-frequency geological cycles (megacycles) with the duration of periods of 2 billion, 1 billion, 500 million, 350 million years and 176 million years are considered. The features of the solar orbit, the structure of the Galaxy, changes in the activity of the nucleus of the latter are analyzed, the consequence of which is a regular change in the physical environment within the solar system, which leads to contrasting events that are clearly recorded in the cometary annals of the Earth.
